Dol-0 is an ASMR / ambient sound / environmental noise generator in the form of a physical numpad. Crafted as a portable device, Dol-0 serves as a customizable gateway to tranquility, focus, and emotional relaxation.

Merging modern sophistication with the nostalgic allure of vintage mechanics, Dol-0 offers a tactile experience that resonates with users on multiple levels. With its sleek and minimalist interface, it exudes a sense of elegance and refinement, inviting users to explore its diverse array of tactile options.
Upon activation, each button on the numpad becomes a portal to a distinct natural element, offering a symphony of soothing sounds ranging from gentle rain to rustling leaves. The user wields the power to sculpt their auditory landscape by adding each soundscape into the remix and by adjusting the volume sliders, orchestrating a harmonious blend tailored to their mood and environment.

Dol-0 transcends mere functionality by offering an immersive journey through a diverse array of contextual settings. With a simple twist of the rotary encoder, users can seamlessly transition between environments—a serene rainforest, a bustling cyberpunk bar in a dystopian metropolis, or the hallowed halls of a sacred temple—each crafted to evoke a specific atmosphere and emotional resonance.

Dol-0 strives to support users in various areas such as focus, meditation, and sleep, offering a customizable experience tailored to their preferences. Through the medium of sound, it endeavors to facilitate a personalized journey of relaxation and imaginative exploration, providing a sanctuary where users can escape the everyday hustle and immerse themselves in a world of their own creation.

Dol-0 was awarded third place for the Media Arts and Design EXPO24 Grant at the University of Chicago.
